DASANI water has launched a new campaign called "Green Cap", which encourages people to find inventive ways to recycle their waterbottles! The DASANI website now features a green cap DIY page. I just liked the idea that they are encouraging craftiness and planet saving, all in one :)
SPINTHREAD
This woman is a genius. She got her start selling vintage eyewear on etsy. She learned to embroider when she got a job at a hotel botique, and that led to her beautiful accessories.

More Questions:
1. What was the coolest Halloween costume you ever wore?
2. If you had to be named after a state, which state would you choose?
3. What is your favorite game show?
4. What is the most memorable class you've ever taken?
Comment with your answers :)
Here are mine:
1. In 3rd grade I was Pocahontas. I even had this little leather purse with fringe and everything. It may not have been my coolest but it was definitely my favorite.
2. Arizona or Michigan.
3. Minute to Win It, or Let's Make a Deal. Let's make a deal is really so cheesy, I just have fond childhood memories of watching reruns and being amused with everyone's costumes.
4. My public speaking class, freshman year of college. It was really cool the way the class was set up, and everyone got to know each other really well. it was intimidating, my first year in college- but that class made us friendly. Also, people told really funny stories.

I tripple dog dare you.
I totally get why dogs stick their heads out the window. Its totally liberating. Have you ever tried it? Ever? Well, now you have an excuse to, because I dare you. Really, I do. Next time you're in the passenger seat, particularly on a warm summer night with a lovely breeze, roll down the window, rest your head on your arms, and soak up the wind blowing through your hair.
Then thank me.
Then thank me.

things for your to ponder:
If you could go back in time 10 years, what would you tell your younger self?
What band/artist is really underrated?
If you had your own talk show, who would the first 3 guests be?
What is your guilty pleasure?
Ok, now, just comment please, with your answers!
And here are my answers:
1. I'd tell myself a lot of things. Mostly to stop being so weird. Seccondly, to get over that guy in 8th grade. And if you know me at all, you probably know who I'm referring to. I'd warn myself of all the driving obstacles I'd encounter, and not to get that hair cut from Letha.
2. I feel as if the Japandroids don't have a big enough audience. I feel like they are really talented, but not that many people have heard of them.
3. Demetri Martin, Malcom Gladwell, David Cho
4. Confession: I secretly love watching people's court. Judge Judy. Judge Joe Brown. I just feel like its more of a freak show, gawking at people's personal problems than enjoying the legal system.

Kayleigh wrote this for me :)
i ♥ your hair... and the shoes you wear.
i love your smile... its bigger than the Nile.
i love your face.. its not a disgrace.
i love your eyes... they don't tell lies.
you never throw a fit or a hit
and you never treat me like (you know what)

My ponderings throughout the day
1. On my lunch break, I read this article in a magazine about people's first celebrity crushes. This one lady was talking about how dreamy Mario Lopez's curly mullet was. She said her tastes have changed since then, but I can't possibly conceive hoe anyone ever thought mullets are attractive.
2. Once, I heard this girl say "Ew, they're old, they shouldn't be able to drive that ballin car." Why not? Old people- for the most part, have worked and saved their money up their entire lives, so they could enjoy their retirement. It's kind of saddening to think that one works all their life until they're too old to enjoy the fruits of their labors. I think the saying "youth is wasted on the young" is true in this sense; they aren't old enough to appreciate their good health and energy and all that.
But on the other hand, "youth is wasted on the young" doesn't really make sense. Youthfulness is the qualiy of being young, immature and inexpierenced; our youthhood is what develops us, in a way. But I also think youthfulness is not just a state of being; its a quality. I've met forty-something year olds who were far more youthful than a few members of my graduating class.
The point? I want to be young until I die. And hopefully, I will be.
3. Last night I had a conversation with my good friend Paul, about how we pity the rich kids. The uptight snots who don't find humor or beauty in anything. They live life unappreciative of the small things. And I think the small things in life are often the most beautiful; the bird on your window sill when you wake up, the sound of your best friend's laughter, or the tocking of light switches- that is where the beauty lies. I pity the superficial fool who can't see that.
"I just don't understand how you could possibly enjoy eating fish if you bought it angry." -Paul
4. I wonder what the postal service is like in other countries.
5. I wonder how many fruits and vegetables I haven't tried.
6. If you read this whole thing, thank you so much

An Update
I haven't been on in forever.
A few things:
1. the pretty floweryness on the side? Its part of this coach poppy project thing, so apparently someone wins a bag or something. Honestly, I just like the way it looks. If youd like to help it grow, and if you twitter haha you can post this:
Grow, Poppy! Grow! #CoachPoppy #laurenmarie www.coach.com/poppyproject
2. I made a bucket list, and I might post some selections on here. I don't think its finished yet, but anyway, one of the items was to make a blog about all my thrifting adventures. Which leads to item number 3..
3. Thrifting is an adventure! Sometimes, when you find that rare gem of fantasticness, it makes picking through all the grungy old sweaters and turtle necks worth it. So i will post the url here when I have content posted and I've made the blog all pretty and such. Just wanted to warn you, its coming :)
